KOVÁCS László

He has been doing pottery since 1971. He opened his own workshop in Kalocsa in 1983. He set himself the task of reviving, reinventing and passing on the spirit of the old Kalocsa pottery tradition. He has been organising annual national pottery meetings since 1987. He has been holding an annual pottery camp in his Pottery Art House and Workshop since 1992. He has been doing pottery training continuously since the early nineties and many of his students have become applied folk artists. He has received numerous recognitions: he was awarded the titles of Young Master of Folk Art and the Applied Folk Artist and Master of Folk Art. He has been a member of the public body of the Hungarian Academy of Arts since 2018. He was bestowed with the Hungarian Heritage Award for his life’s work in 2022.
