Béla Bartos, a master furrier, and Enikő Bartos, a fur coat and leather embroiderer, were awarded the title of Masters of Folk Art in 2016. Theywork with an archaic, traditional Chango technique and ornaments. With their traditional activities they profess that timeless objects are symbols that provide strength and security in rapidly changing times, which can help the Hungarian people in Transylvania to experience their identity. With their work they seek to facilitate Hungarians’ staying in their native land and preserve community values. They are exemplary masters who do their all to preserve Hungarian culture and pass on the craf inherited from their ancestors to young people.
