1997, Budapest, folk flute maker
He grew up on the edge of the village of Leányfalu, where being a life close to nature and usingthe use of tools was part of surrounded his everyday life from an early age. He made his first flute when his child was born, so that he could play his own instrument for him and then pass it on. He soon realised the depths of the ancient craf of flute making and it became his vocation. Some of his instruments are made using modern automated systems, but the elder wood he collects himself is processed exclusively by hand, using the old methods. In the design of his instruments he fuses the old techniques with the classical system when designing his instruments, and focusing on the archaic sound of the peasant flute. His aim is to preserve the atmosphere of the authentic flute playing style.
